This July marks Vicki’s 25th anniversary of owning her dream boat. She has sailed to New England multiple times on it, trips that were the most fun she’s ever had. She values the good times on the passages, falling in love with the beauty of the Maine coast, as well as the challenging parts, sailing through storms, counter currents, and strong headwinds. After making it back to home port ahead of a hurricane one year, she couldn’t bear to leave her boat for more than a night. She was back the following day to check the lines and make sure all was well on this boat that had cared for her for the past ten weeks. Her current best crew member is her dog, for whom a sail and a swim constitutes an ideal day. When she’s not out on her own adventures, she loves teaching. Her goal is to focus on teaching women on their own boats so that they are comfortable on the vessels on which they normally sail. In this way, Vicki empowers other women to embrace the sailing life.
