Boating is a family business for Sarah. Her family still owns and runs the marine towing business that she grew up with. As a child, they would take months off at a time and cruise up and down the East Coast. Later in life she competed on her collegiate racing team. At one point her parent’s lives diverged; her father’s heart carried him to the Bahamas, and her mother continued as a strong marine businesswoman. Sarah is a wonderful representative of her two parents, following in both of their footsteps. Sarah spent almost ten years living in the Bahamas where she taught sailing, particularly enjoying teaching women to sail, and captained on charter cruise boats. After the birth of her first child, her and her husband moved to Maryland where they became an integral part in the towing business with her mother. Safety is very important to her, and one of the ways she encourages safe boating is by providing life jackets and other resources to boaters. She is continuing the family tradition and now loves helping her young children grow up to be smart and capable mariners themselves.
