Erica can’t see herself spending the rest of her life anywhere except the Chesapeake Bay. She grew up boating in Annapolis, has taught sailing for a youth program on the Eastern Shore, lives on her boat on Kent Island, works for Upstream Alliance connecting people to nature, hosts an informal book club where they read books about the Bay, and she goes fishing as often as she can. She loves the trifecta of oysters and fish and crabs offered by the waters here. While her boat may not fit as many plants as an apartment, she still makes sure to have greenery around her. She surrounds herself with nature, both inside her home and outside. This will be her first winter living on a boat, and she’s both nervous and excited for it.
