Lynn grew up sailing in Oklahoma, where the wind across the plains can create good racing weather. She first crewed with her brother, then took the helm herself. Her skill and love of racing continues now, on her own boat. Putting the axiom “a race is won before you leave the dock” to work, she takes excellent care in preparing her boat for the challenges to come. She overcame initial hesitation about doing her own maintenance, but now is comfortable and confident that she can do a good job, as good a job as she could pay someone else to do. Her careful preparations for offshore races have also rubbed some excitement off on her daughter, who wishes to crew on future races. Lynn is now helping her daughter to join the racing side of the family.
