Training - Licensed Master Captain

At “forty-teen” years old, Amaani continues to hold onto her fun energy and playful charisma. Her draw to boats was inspired from a kayaking trip, when she dove into the water to rescue a dropped phone. From the water, she saw a large boat go by, and was inspired to learn how to command a boat like that. She started reaching out to boat clubs and other captains, offering deckhand services in exchange for learning on her path for a Captain’s license. She brings an abundance of enthusiasm and hard work into this endeavor, appreciating the ever-changing challenges of being in charge of a vessel. As one of the few female captains, and even fewer women of color captains, she has experienced incredible support from the boating industry and her mentors. A mix of youthful energy and steady effort are taking Amaani to the helm of the boats she admires.
